Our Policies

National Park Pass

Everyone planning to visit Banff National Park including the town of Banff requires a Park Pass. Passes can be purchased online at https://www.banfflakelouise.com/park-pass-purchase and need to be displayed on the dash of your car. 

Cancellation policy

Reservations may be cancelled at no charge, any time, up to 14 days before your arrival. Should you cancel within 14 days of your arrival date, you will forfeit the deposit.

Quiet Policy

Sunshine Mountain Lodge is proud to offer our guests a calm and quiet atmosphere within the lodge floors and rooms. We ask that all of our guests co-operate by keeping the volume level in their rooms to a minimum. Voices and foot traffic in the hallways, especially in the early hours, can be heard for some distance. Please respect fellow guests and keep the noise level to a minimum. Quiet hours are 10:00PM to 7:00AM.

Alcohol Policy

Alcohol is only permitted in guest rooms and is prohibited in all other areas of the hotel including, but not limited to: hallways, lobbies, common rooms and food & beverage outlets.

Deposit Policy

Upon booking your reservation, a deposit of 1 night's room and taxes will be charges to your credit card on file.

Ski/snowboard Gear Storage

Ski and snowboard gear are not permitted in your guest room and can be stored in a personal ski locker during your stay. For every room we have a dedicated locker located in the West Wing, and our Bell Desk team are happy to bring your equipment there after a long day on the slopes. 

Key Trip planning itemS:

  • We require guests to show a physical credit card and photo ID that match the reservation name at check in. Please have these ready, along with any pre-purchase lift ticket products, for your arrival.

  • It is recommended that you carry all essential and/or breakable items with you. Day storage for these items is available at the Concierge Desk, located on the Lobby level of the Lodge. As space is limited, the limit is one medium size bag per room in day storage.

  • Please note that for your planning purposes, the Sunshine Mountain lodge is ONLY accessible by Gondola during the following hours: Saturday to Thursday - 8am to 5pm | Friday - 8am to 10pm. If you are arriving after 5:30pm, please note that after Gondola hours the only way up the mountain to the hotel is via our emergency vehicle, this will come with an additional charge of $125 + GST, please get in contact with us ASAP if this is required.

  • Cooking equipment is not permitted in the rooms as it poses a fire hazard.

  • Portable playpens are available upon requests and are subject to availability.

  • We do not provide rollaway beds.
