Begin your adventure by taking the gondola to Sunshine Village, where you can explore the surrounding high alpine meadows and enjoy uninterrupted views of the Rockies. Spend your first night at Banff’s only mountain top hotel, Sunshine Mountain Lodge. The next morning, with packed lunch in your daypack, and your camera ready, embark on the epic 27 km hike via Simpson Pass, Healy Pass, Egypt Lake, Whistling Pass and Haiduk Lake to arrive at the historic Shadow Lake Lodge. Spend a night or two relaxing in your private log cabin, enjoying warm hospitality and mountain gourmet meals. Discover even more jaw-dropping views on the final leg of your journey over Gibbon Pass to Twin Lakes, Arnica Lake, and Vista Lake. Please note, this experience is for advanced hikers only and guests will get a call from our team at Shadow Lake Lodge to confirm their ability and go over trek details.
If you’re traveling from afar, be sure to book transportation early on to ensure a seamless arrival and departure. Shuttling services book up fast in the Bow Valley!
When making your respective lodge reservations, you will be required to provide credit card information for initial non-refundable deposits. You can read more about cancellation and booking policies for SLL here and SML here. We highly recommend trip/medical insurance.
